Quick start guide

 

 

 

The purpose of the Quick Start Guide is to briefly introduce the contents of the various columns of the database to make it easy for users to use them quickly.

 

The database columns are divided into three sections:

 

Information:

Information Column show database-related presentations and documentation, such as this Quick Start Guide. You can go to our document library by clicking “INFORMATION” in the top bar for advice and documentation.

 

Search:

In order to make it easier for users to search for more general data on the expression of liver cancer-related genes, we set up this module. You can go to the SEARCH page by clicking “SEARCH” on the top Bar, and you can view the relevant gene expression data by entering or selecting the content in the left sidebar. At present, we have designed the following performance methods:

  • When users only enter a gene symbol, they can see the expression of the gene in each disease (vs. normal).
  • When users only select a disease, they can see expression spectrum of top20 most significant differential genes in this disease (vs. normal).
  • When users only select a sample characteristic combined with a disease, they can see expression spectrum of top20 most significant differential genes between different conditions of the sample characteristic in this disease which revels the influence of sample characteristic on gene expression.
  • When users enter a gene symbol, select a disease and a sample characteristic, they can see the expression of this gene at each condition of this sample characteristic in the disease. When the sample characteristic does not match the selected disease (e.g. “fatty liver” and “BCLC stage”), the results will not be displayed.

Database:

The database column is built on the framework of the tranSMART system, storing the sample features and molecular data after standardization and normalization. You can click on “ENTRANCE” in the top bar to enter the ontology database to perform various and practical analysis.

1.Accessing the database.( Everyone has free access to all the features of the database. Non-developers will automatically enter as “guest” status. The login function is to distinguish between developers/administrator and non-developers.)

2.Chick”Analysis”,Select the grouping data information you want to compare and drag it to the grouping bar.( At present, the tranSMART system we use has an unstable condition in the Browse module, so the contents of the Browse are temporarily hidden. Despite this, users can still fully implement the browsing function through other tools.)

 

3.Click ” Advanced Workflow ” to select the required analysis

4.Once the run analysis is complete, you can view the results on the page, or you can click ” Save to PDF ” to save the export results.
